Aug/Sep 2011 Newsletter

We hope that you receive this newsletter at a good time when you can read through it attentively and take note of what is and has been happening at Tribulant Software.

The past two months have been extremely busy as usual. We were doing development on our premium WordPress plugins and offered support which kept us busy each day for many hours. It has truly been an amazing experience! Here it goes:

New Releases

There were fewer releases than usual but they were two major releases for our Newsletter plugin and Shopping Cart plugin. Let me tell you more about them:

WordPress Newsletter plugin v3.8.7

This was a great release of the WordPress Newsletter plugin with many new features and major improvements to the plugin. You can read the announcement and the detailed release notes and here are a few of the new feature highlights:

• Autoresponder emails section.
• Subscriber management section.
• Custom CSS in the Configuration.
• Multiple attachments on emails.
• Improved qTranslate integration.
• Post thumbnails for WordPress posts.
• Colorbox integration for dialogs.
• And much, much more…

WordPress Shopping Cart plugin v1.6.5

The WordPress Shopping Cart plugin had a major overhaul on the default theme supplied with the plugin. It looks and works great! You can read the announcement and the detailed release notes for more information. Here are some of the new feature highlights:

• Date picker custom field.
• Bulk generate and export coupon codes.
• New default theme design. Beautiful!
• Timthumb and Colorbox integration for images.
• UPS shipping module/API.
• USPS v4 shipping module/API.
• Realex Remote payment gateway.
• WorldPay payment gateway.
• Tax exempt products.
• Tax override products.
• And a long list of improvements and fixes…

WordPress Theme Releases

Great news! We will soon be releasing a range of premium WordPress themes at Tribulant Software. Our themes will be useful, universal, fast and very appealing!

The first theme is so fresh, it doesn’t have a name yet but we’ll think of an appropriate name as we work on completing the masterpiece. Here is a sneak preview of our first theme:

This first theme that we’ve been working on is a very clean and simple layout with options in the WordPress dashboard to choose colors with a color picker, the fonts, the background pattern/image, slides for the slideshow and much, much more. It will have flexible widget configurations as well:

The main reason why we decided to start designing/developing themes is because we deal with dozens of themes each day which do not follow WordPress conventions and unfortunately, as a result cause JavaScript conflicts and other problems.

Apple iPad 2 Contest Results

Our Apple iPad 2 giveaway contest which was held during the month of August was a great success considering the number of users who interacted and entered into it.

We gave away two, free premium WordPress plugin licenses for three weeks and then we gave away the Apple iPad 2 grand prize at the end of the fourth week.

The contest winners were:

• Dhaval Pathak and Stephen Meehan.
• Jonah Ramball and John Hendricks.
• Chuck Smith and another user didn’t respond.
• Katherine Nel won the Apple iPad 2.

New Team Member

Daniel Flemming was employed at Tribulant Software at the beginning of September to get involved with marketing strategies, video production and support management.

You can read more about Daniel on our staff page and you might just meet him in our helpdesk answering your ticket.

Recurring Updates

We implemented recurring/subscription payments into the download renewals on the Tribulant Software website for all plugin licenses.

As you know, when you purchase a license, you get 3 months (90 days) free updates included. You can either extend your license immediately (with recurring payments) or wait until it expires and then renew it (with recurring payments) so that you only have to do the payment process once and then be charged automatically every 3 months.

Go and try it out in your downloads management section. Extending/renewing your download costs as little as US$5. We appreciate your business and support!

Community Forums

The community forums have been revamped to fit better into our website layout. Please note that the community forums are still just for community discussions and not for priority support.

Our forums are proudly powered by bbPress, developed by the creators of WordPress. Great software! We hope to see more development on it in the near future.

Our Alexa Ranking

To be quite honest, we are extremely proud of our Alexa ranking. We work hard to promote Tribulant Software and our premium WordPress plugins on the internet with SEO so it is good to see that the hard work pays off. Feel free to write a review on Alexa, we will appreciate it very much!
