WordPress 2.9

WordPress 2.9We have installed WordPress 2.9 on our test sever and are currently in the process of testing all of our products. So far, by the looks of it, there aren’t any issues or conflicts whatsoever.

Do Not Upgrade

We ask existing client’s not to automatically upgrade to version 2.9 and to rather remain with WordPress 2.8.6 until we have completed our testing. Many of you will remember the frustration experience when WordPress changed the core in the release between 2.7 and 2.8. While we hope there is nothing in the new release of version 2.9 that will affect our products it is better to err on the side of caution and wait for our feedback regarding 2.9.

I Can’t Wait

If you can’t wait or you service provider insists on an upgrade then backup your site. The MySQL database as well as the WordPress directory must be backed up. This is because your data is stored elsewhere in a MySQL database, separate from the actual files. If you do not know how to backup your entire site please contact your service provider.

Self-Service hosting

Many client’s are on a self service hosting package which in most cases means that you are on your own and you ISP expects you to run and maintain your own site. If you need help backing up your site we can do it for you and email you the backup in a zip format. This normally takes about 30mins depending on the size of your database. The will be a charge per 30mins of $15USD

3rd Party Plugins

Please also remember if you are using any other plugins these may to be affected by installing WordPress 2.9. Remember the old saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

    Whats on your mind?

    What people say

"I tried one of those 'free' WordPress newsletter plug-ins. Several hours later, I still couldn't get it to work. Talk about a costly endeavor! Tribulant, on the other hand, worked from the get-go. And the customer support is among the best I've ever seen. My advice: End your search here. You've found your WordPress newsletter plug-in."
